This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies (like localStorage and sessionStorage) RedRoute Removals actually uses on this website, what each one does, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
01 — What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data a website can store in your browser. We also use two closely related browser storage tools — localStorage and sessionStorage — which work similarly (they stay on your device rather than being sent to us with every request) and raise the same privacy considerations, so we've included them here too.
02 — The categories we use
- Essential — needed for the site and its basic controls (like remembering your cookie choice) to work. These aren't switched off by the banner.
- Functional — remember a preference or carry information between pages, to make the site easier to use. Not used for tracking or advertising.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. Optional, and only ever set after you choose Accept analytics (or switch Analytics cookies on in Cookie Settings).
- Marketing — used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We don't use any.
03 — Cookies & storage actually used on this site
This table lists every cookie/storage item this website's own code can set — nothing has been added that isn't really in use.
Essential
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
redroute_cookie_consent |
RedRoute Removals (first party) | Remembers your analytics choice (accepted or rejected) and the version of this policy it was made under, so we don't ask again on every visit. Stored in your browser's localStorage; contains no personal information. |
Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice |
session (cookie) |
RedRoute Removals (first party) | Keeps RedRoute staff signed in to the site's content-management area. Ordinary visitors never receive this — it's only set if someone signs in at /admin. |
Up to 8 hours, or until logout |
Functional
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
redroute-language |
RedRoute Removals (first party) | Remembers whether you've chosen English or Ukrainian, so you don't have to reselect it on every page. | Until you clear your browser storage |
rr_pickup_area |
RedRoute Removals (first party) | Carries the area or postcode you searched on our “Areas We Cover” page into the quote form, so you don't have to type it twice. | Cleared automatically when you close the browser tab |
We treat these two as necessary for the specific features you've asked to use (choosing a language, carrying a search across pages), not as tracking, so they aren't gated behind the Analytics toggle below — but they're listed here in full for transparency.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-1GTBSBLB2R), provided by Google, to understand in aggregate how visitors use this website. It is optional: Google's script is not loaded, and none of the cookies below are set, until you choose Accept analytics.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics (set on our domain) | Distinguishes visitors by storing a randomly generated ID. Only set after you accept analytics cookies. | 2 years |
_ga_1GTBSBLB2R (_ga_<container-id>) |
Google Analytics (set on our domain) | Keeps track of the current visit (session) for this website's Google Analytics property. Only set after you accept analytics cookies. | 2 years |
If you reject analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. If you accept and later switch Analytics cookies off in Cookie Settings, we stop sending analytics data and delete the _ga and _ga_* cookies from our domain. We use Google Consent Mode with advertising storage and ad personalisation always set to “denied”, and Google signals is switched off — Google Analytics is used here for website statistics only, not advertising.
Marketing
None. This website does not run any advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking tag — there's nothing in this category to switch on today. If that changes, this table and our cookie banner will be updated first, and nothing will load without your consent.
04 — Managing your preferences
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept analytics, Reject analytics, or open Cookie settings to choose with a switch. Google Analytics is not loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, until you accept.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.
Your choice is remembered on this device and browser only. Switching analytics off stops analytics straight away; you don't need to clear your browser storage.
05 — Browser controls
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies and site storage directly in their settings. Doing this may affect how parts of this site work — for example, your language choice or a search you've carried across pages may not be remembered.
06 — Changes to this policy
We'll update this page whenever the cookies or storage we actually use change. If a change affects the choice you made, we'll ask for your cookie choice again. Any changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date above.
This page lists only what this website's code can actually set today. It should be reviewed again whenever a new script, tool or integration is added to the site.
